Grasslands Map Walkthrough – Hard – Classic Mode

Thanks to several users from the Fieldrunners Forum, mainly ‘Straycat’, ‘Pillyliu’, ‘Karlitot’ and our own Strategy Guide Committee we now have a solution to beat the Grasslands map on Hard Difficulty (Classic mode). This strategy doesn’t use the controversial ‘tower selling’ or ‘endless maze’ tactic, which some comrades believe is a type of cheat or exploit in the game.

Of course you don’t have to follow this guide exactly if you still want a challenge. Here at the Strategy Games HQ, we found it was more fun to use it as a rough guide instead of following it step by step.

Note: While it is possible to get a perfect score (no towers sold or hearts lost) using this layout, but it is extremely difficult as it requires very strategic timing in the placement of your towers.

  Step 1:Build 3 Gatling Towers. Upgrade #1 and #3.
  Step 2:1- Build 2 Lightning Towers and upgrade to Level 2. (First one needs to be completed by Round 10)
2- Build Goo Tower.
3- Build Goo Tower. Complete by Round 20.
  Step 3:

Build the towers as illustrated, starting with the Goo Tower, then the 4 Gatlings and finally the Lightning. Complete before Round 24.
  Step 4:

Add another 2 Gatling Towers as indicated by Round 25.
  Step 5:

This is where things get interesting (and very difficult if you are going for a perfect score.) The order that you place these towers in is critical to stopping any fieldrunners from passing.1- Build a Gatling Tower and 2 Goo Towers
2- Upgrade right Lightning Tower to Level 2
3- Upgrade Goo Tower to Level 3
4- Upgrade both left Lightning Towers to Level 3 before Round 32
  Step 6:

1- Upgrade top left Goo Tower to Level 3
2- Build right Lightning Tower
3- Build left Lightning Tower before Round 36
  Step 7:

1- Upgrade Lightning Tower to Level 2
2- Build 3 Gatling Towers before Round 40
  Step 8:

1- Upgrade Lightning Tower to Level 3
2- Build 3 Gatling Towers and 1 Goo Tower during Round 43. Upgrade the new Goo Tower to Level 3.
  Step 9:

1- Upgrade both Lightning Towers to Level 3.
2- Upgrade Goo Tower to Level 3.
3- Build 2 Lightning Towers, upgrade one of them to Level 3 and the other to Level 2.
4- Build Goo Tower, upgrade to Level 3.
  Step 10:

1- Upgrade Lighting tower to Level 3.
2- Build Lightning Tower, upgrade to Level 3.
  Step 11:

1- Build Goo Tower, upgrade to Level 3.
2- Build 6 Gatling Towers.
3- Build Goo Tower.
4- Build Lightning Tower.
5- Upgrade #3 Goo Tower to Level 3.
  Step 12:

1- Upgrade Lightning Tower to Level 3.
2- Build Lightning Tower and upgrade to Level 3 before Round 75.
3- Build Goo Tower and upgrade to Level 3.
  Step 13:

1- Build Lightning Tower.
2- Build 5 Gatling Towers.
3- Build Goo Tower and upgrade to Level 3.
  Step 14:

1- Upgrade Lightning Tower to Level 3.
  Step 15:

1- Build Goo Tower and upgrade to Level 3.
  Step 16:

1- Build Lightning Tower and upgrade to Level 3.
2- Build Lightning Tower and upgrade to Level 3.
3- Build Lightning Tower and upgrade to Level 2.
4- Build Goo Tower and upgrade to Level 3.
  Step 17:

1- Upgrade Lightning Tower to Level 3 in Round 100.
2- Build 3 Gatling Towers.
  Step 18:

Build the final Gatling Tower just before the mech robot thing gets to the gate. This will effectively block the gate and force him to turn around.
         VICTORY For the Peoples!
